Situation analysis

On the basis of space supervision is drawn the conclusion that the total amount of world burning of natural gas within last 12 years remained stable — in limits 150–170 bln. м³ in year.

It’s equal 30 % of consumption of natural gas in the European Union countries, 25 % — in the USA, and also 75 % of the Russian export of natural gas.
Potential value of the associated petroleum gas which has burnt down in torches in 2006 is 40 billion US dollars. As a result of it in atmosphere has arrived 400 million tons carbonic gas.

Real volumes of extraction and burning of associated petroleum gas(APG) gas in Russia are enough difficult for estimating. For a reference point of statistical parametres of  problem of use of APG we were guided by the data resulted in the Annual review of the project «Ecology and Power the International context», carried out by the World fund of the wild nature (WWF):

The volume extracted from bowels APG, according to Rosstat in 2001-2006 has increased in 1,5 times or by 18 billion m³ (from 37,7 billion m³ in 2001 to 56,6 billion m³ in 2006). Dynamics of use of gas essentially lags from paces of its extraction. Volumes of recycling of APG for the analyzed period have increased only in 1,4 times (from 30,4 billion m ³ in 2001 to 42,5 billion in m ³ in 2006). In this connection volumes of burnt gas on flare devices constantly increase (from 7,4 billion in m ³ in 2001 to 14,1 billion in m ³ in 2006, tons, in 1,9 times).

According to the Ministry of natural resources, from 55 bln. m ³ annually extracted to Russia APG only 26 % (14 bln. m³) go to processing, 47 % (26 bld. m ³) go for needs of crafts or is written off on technological losses and 27 % (15 bln. m ³) is burnt in torches. Thus, the factor of recycling of gas is 73 % if to be based on the data about technological losses and expenses on own use.

The highest level of use of APG (more than 90 %) is fixed in Southern and Far East federal districts. And worst of all affairs are in Northwest federal district where recycling of associated petroleum gas not on many exceeds 35 % . Unsatisfactory position and in the Siberian Federal district (65 %)
